Richard Moreau discusses Leadership Culture
Mar 5, 2009
At the Disaster Recovery Information Exchange (DRIE) quarterly meeting, Richard Moreau presented an overview of the role of Leaders in Emergency and Crisis Management. His entertaining and informative presentation examined the Role of Leaders Before, During and After an Emergency, Creating the Right Leadership Climate and Setting the Conditions for Success.
Richard outlined the signs of leaders disconnected and detached from the realities of managing an emergency or a crisis, including a bureaucratic view and managerial approach coupled with a culture of risk aversion and decision-making by consensus and committee. He discussed how to create the right leadership climate for success during a crisis and how to build your key indicators through appropriate situational awareness.
